Resolutions

I’ve never been much of one for New Year’s Resolutions; I’ve always felt that if I had to make a resolution to get something done, it probably isn’t going to get done anyway. If I was, though, one thing I would resolve to do (along with posting more frequently on this site) is to spend more time wandering around Fort Wayne with a camera. Those who’ve spent much time with me know that complaining about this city is one of my favorite pastimes, but it’s not completely without its charms…

Yes, I know, it’s a sunset picture and therefore cliché. So sue me.

Friday Photo – Jun. 2

From Chain ‘o Lakes State Park last weekend:

Chain ‘o Lakes Dawn

I like this photo, but it’s a pretty good illustration of the problems with displaying photos on the web. The small size has pretty much destroyed the fine detail in the leaves, and the colors are off in every browser I’ve tried except Safari on the Mac. All the rest render the picture sort of cold and dark, when it’s supposed to be warm and leafy green. *sigh*

Maybe I’ll have better luck with an 8×10 print…

Friday-ish Photos – March 3

A couple from the Sigur Ros concert a couple of weeks ago. These are far from great, but I didn’t want to haul the D70 with me and the LX1 doesn’t like the low light. They’ll give you an idea anyway.

Friday Photos – Feb. 3

These seemed to belong together, so I’m posting them as a pair. They were shot last weekend, with the LX1. I’m still getting the hang of that camera; it’s quite a bit different to work with than the DSLR I’ve been using for the past couple years.

Friday Photo – Jan. 27

I’ve been working on some photos for an article/essay type thing, and I had been planning on using this one. I think I like it too well to bury it on a separate page though; it deserves its own post.

Friday Photo – Jan. 20

Yes, it’s late, but it’s still technically Friday. My brother sent me this one earlier this week, and I liked it quite a bit so I asked him if I could post it. I really like the smooth tones in the clouds and the dark brooding trees. Everybody welcome our first guest photographer…
