		<description>One of the reasons I&#039;m so wary (some might say &quot;paranoid&quot;) about comment spam is that back when I did the site redesign a couple months ago I found some spam comments lurking in my old posts, despite the fact that I had comment posting disabled.  I&#039;m not sure how they did it, and I&#039;m not sure what they hoped to accomplish since comment display was also disabled, but there they were.

At any rate, when I enabled comments, I neglected to check the box that emails me whenever comments are held for moderation.  It&#039;s checked now, so hopefully stuff shouldn&#039;t languish in the moderation queue any more.</description>

Not that it means anything, but I&#039;ve had comments open since inception late last year, and I have yet to see any comment spam.  One of the benefits of being an Insignificant Microbe.</description>
